Galette des rois (king’s cake) is a French pastry produced to celebrate epiphany. It consists of two rounds of puff pastry encasing almond frangipane, dusted with a ring of sugar. It is buttery, flaky, and delicious. 9″ round serves 8.
A small fève (bean) is baked into the galette, so chew carefully! Whoever finds the fève is the king or queen for the day and they get to wear the crown.
Fèves are ceramic pastries ordered from France. Each order also comes with a paper crown.
